Some Great Resources for Upper KS2
Winter Wonderland.
This inquiry was inspired by a development day with author and Imagineerer (not sure that is even a word) Hywel Roberts. Hywel talks alot about leading children into their learning through role-play and imagining - starting shallow and getting deeper. In this unit, children are going to create a Winter Wonderland to go on the school field, once what is needed has been determined and a map has been created, team roles will be given to the children and tasks undertaken. As you can see from the lesson plan this could be quite a large task for the children. I have made the budget sheets (below) editable so that any suggestions the children make can be added to the budget sheet, it also means that the work can be differentiated to make it easier or harder. The beauty of this is that the principal can be based upon anything e.g. A sports stadium, a supermarket, a fun fair, a music festival. Possibilities are endless.
I am using it this week and will update on how it goes.
